We were delighted to welcome Bonnie Tonya Hundley to our school for Opera Day. Opera day was planned with the purpose of highlighting different music genres. As a young opera singer, Bonnie has performed over a hundred solos in different venues. From the streets of Oxford to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She has performed rock and pop at Portsmouth’s Guildhall, sung choral pieces to world leaders and celebrities at Blenheim Palace, folk and classical music at parties, memorials, theatres and book launches. What hasn’t she done!

After a short presentation by Caroline talking to the students about her story, we were lucky enough to have Bonnie sing two well known opera songs accompanied by our very own Neil Barker on the piano. The students were then able ask Bonnie different questions about her opera singing journey.

Watch the video here of Bonnie singing at age 7! It’s safe to say our students were certainly inspired.
