LVS Oxford Students Visit Le Manoir
Students at LVS Oxford had a wonderful trip to Le Manoir Aus Quat’Saisons, a Belmond Hotel last month. During their visit they had a 40 minute tour around the kitchens followed by a fantastic demo from the Executive Head Chef Gary Jones who is the holder of two Michelin stars. The students were shown all around the butchery and bakery sections, and service side as well as having some incredible tastings set up for the group. One student said ” Looking around the kitchen and seeing how they do things was great.”
The students were lucky enough to meet the grounds keeper; August who gave an exciting tour allowing the students to see their magnificent two acre gardens, where they tried lots of herbs and edible flowers. In this instance they tried stevia and micro mustard, which was a massive hit!
At the end of the trip the students were not only kindly gifted with a delicious piece of lemon cake in a La Manoir box to take home but also promised work experience if they were interested!
LVS Oxford are proud to organise and offer school trips that provide an insight into the world of work and provide opportunities that enable students to experience professional environments. This equips the students with a lifelong practical and social skill set that can be applied to their time in education and beyond.
