Students from LVS Oxford were delighted to see how their much needed donations to the North Oxfordshire Community Food Bank will be distributed, when they visited the Bank’s Kidlington branch recently.
Head Girl, Agnes, and Head Boy, Bradley, handed over the large donation, collected as the part of the school’s Harvest Festival celebrations, to the team who run the Food Bank’s branch at Kidlington Baptist Church. Agnes and Bradley were given a tour of the Food Bank and learnt how donations are sorted by volunteers in preparation for weekly collection by members of the public. The Bank has seen the demand for food and toiletries double in the past six months. LVS Oxford’s donation will be sorted and distributed this month, providing support for families in the local area.
Commenting on the donation, head of school, Louisa Allison-Bergin; “I’d like to thank staff, students and parents who supported this year’s appeal. Now more than ever, we need to support our communities, and it was fantastic for Agnes and Bradley to see the operation and how our donations will be distributed.”
