The training workshop is an opportunity to once again work with Deirdre Nic Sitric from Autism Champions to share knowledge and interventions on girls who have autism. Please note that this event is aimed at helping professionals to progress their knowledge, not aimed at parents.
Autistic girls are at much higher risk of mental health difficulties. They can struggle with social communication, relationships and employment, with long-lasting effects. This training workshop is a follow-up to our previous workshop where we looked at the challenges that autistic girls face. How can we as school support our girls on the spectrum both educationally and emotionally? Girls with autism require tailored support for dealing with mental health issues. This training will explore different interventions specifically for supporting girls with their mental health, by looking at looking at how girls are assessed and diagnosed for autism, and explaining which mental health conditions girls with autism most frequently experience.
