Preparation and visualisation are two aspects that are invaluable in helping learners to succeed, and last term learners did exactly that with role plays to help their studies.
The session gave learners the opportunity to practice being on reception and how they would deal with visitors to the school - even some very difficult visitors as learners got into character!
The session formed part of preparations towards the BTEC Business Studies course, for which learners will spend time working on reception so that they can gain more experience of interacting with people in a professional manner. As well as giving learners a fun way to encourage them to communicate with each other, the session helped them to appreciate what will be expected of them in a business environment and to help them prepare to cope with different members of the public.
We offer a specialist curriculum that recognises young people diagnosed on the autistic spectrum as individuals.
