With ensuring learners go on from LVS Oxford to further education or training for the job they want being one of our key goals, we welcomed guest speaker Kirsty Byford from Westcom Group last month.
Kirsty shared with our BTEC Business class how to use a job description to tailor your CV and make it specific to the job you are applying for. She also told learners the secrets to making their CV stand out amongst others - another way we help our learners to prepare for the future and not let autism hold them back. Our learners were keen to find out everything they need to know when job hunting, with Kirsty answering a host of questions including how a salary is agreed between the company and new employee!
Many of the tasks the students undertake will help build competencies in citizenship, relating to others, managing situations and working as part of a team - all key to being fulfilled and employable adults.
