About Us

Students diagnosed with learning difficulties such as autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and related conditions will really progress with us. We offer a structured environment and an approach that focuses on developing their independence and confidence, whilst equipping them with the skills needed for employment and dealing with the complexities of day to day life.

The residential provision on offer is modeled on our school LVS Hassocks.  Supported by excellent pastoral care, which encourages independence, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles, students will carry on learning life-skills outside of the classroom in a safe and secure environment.

Led by Sarah Sherwood, Director of Special Educational Needs, the experienced team of teaching and support staff at LVS Oxford are passionate about providing a positive and nurturing learning environment for young people with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger’s Syndrome and other associated needs such as dyslexia. With on-site speech, language and occupational therapists, dedicated chefs and practical instructors delivering the vocational skills, the focus is on developing students as individuals, recognising their strengths and utilising the skills and resources available within our specialist school.

Our aims.

Our aim with young people we work with is to enable them to become:

  • successful learners in charge of their learning
  • confident individuals in control of their feelings
  • responsible people in control of their actions.

LVS Oxford is owned and managed by the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) - Heatherley, London Road, Ascot, Berkshire, SL5 8DR.  01344 884440

The Chairman of the LVS Oxford Education Committee is Mrs Anita Adams.  01344 884440

Current research shows that only 15% of young people with an autism spectrum diagnosis are in sustained, full-time employment and we are passionate about changing that statistic.
